Kefelonia

Kefelonia, and
the resort of Lassi was my destination this year. Having really looked forward
to it I'm pleased to say, as usual with the
Greek Islands I was not disappointed. The Princess Hotel where I
stayed is well situated. Although on the main road to Argostoli
through Lassi, it is set back in its grounds far enough that you are not
bothered by traffic noise. It is also within walking distance of super beaches.
Accommodation had air conditioning which was great as while I was there the
daytime temperatures reached 37 C. in the shade.

I looked at their web site before I went but it surpassed my expectations. All
the staff from Reception to the Cleaners are cheerful and helpful and as
usual their English is much better than my Greek and they do everything to make
your stay there enjoyable. The choice for breakfast is varied so I'm sure you'll
always find something for you . During the day a good selection of drinks and
tasty meals or snacks are available from the from the pool bar. If you are not a
beach lover ,
there are plenty of sun beds and tables and chairs around the Pool so it is
possible to spend your days there. Evenings at the Princess Hotel start with the
Happy Hour By the Pool at the Mango Bar where Manos makes a mean Cocktail to set
you up before you go out for your evening meals or a stroll. Lassi is good
resort, well served with Supermarkets Restaurants and Tavernas. The Beaches are
really good with crystal clear waters. However, all can only be reached via
quite steep downhill paths and many steps, so it would not be very easy for
anyone with walking difficulties to reach them. Many Hotels (all of which have
their own pools) are set in the steep hillsides

overlooking the bay. This of course gives great panoramic views of the bay and
the stunning Sunsets, but, I spoke with people staying at those hotels who said
that the tour operators brochures referred to those Hotel locations as being
situated on" A slight Incline". Many also found a Taxi was the best way to reach
them particularly at night. I hope you find this information of help if you plan
