Myrtos Beach
:
Probably the most
photographed place on Kefelonia

From Agia
Efemia to FISKARDO it is a beautiful scenic journey from the eastern coast
across to the
North
western coast of Kefelonia.. The views from the in places, sheer coast line are
stunning., none more than that of Myrtos beach with its white sands and clear,
deep sapphire waters. The beach is quiet and best reached from the sea but it
can be reached by a very steep road that snakes down the hillside. from the same
vantage point you can also see the village of Assos and the Venetian fortress on
the peninsula

FISKARDO,
From
here I continued to the most Northerly port of the Island to the village of FISKARDO,
Because
of the local geology it escaped serous damage cause by the 1953
earthquake and is probably the most picturesque place on Kefelonia.. the Harbour
and jetties have a wealth of cafes, Tavernas and shops and the Harbour itself is
full of all kinds of vessels. sailing boats and Self drive speedboats can be
hired and once away from the
Harbour the scenery is reminiscent of the Norwegian
fiords
FISKARDO was
the last stop on the Island tour and it was worth the journey and rounded of a
really excellent day . Although my photos can never do justice to the beautiful
Island of Kefelonia I hope they at least give and idea of what awaits you should
you ever visit this marvellous Island

Well that is
